Now that we had spent a few days in Cody and were fairly settled in, we were ready to go to Jackson via Yellowstone National Park.
If you remember from the Day 1, we had lost the entire first day of our trip at the airport, causing us to scrap our round-about route to Jackson via Meeteetse, Thermopolis, Riverton, and DuBois.
But, at the same time, this new schedule gave us more time to enjoy Yellowstone and go a longer way to see more.
But, at the same time, this new schedule gave us more time to enjoy Yellowstone and go a longer way to see more.
So after a Cody breakfast at Our Place (Home of the $0.25 Coffee)...
...we headed west out of Cody...
.
.
...as well as a camera...
...and eventually made it into Yellowstone...
...where we were immediately greeted...
...by a buffalo.
At first, I assumed this was a not-so-common sighting...
...but it turned out to be...
...actually pretty common.
Rather than bore with you with a chronological account of what we saw, why don't I just show you some photos and videos that were taken?
Here are some Yellowstone moments...
***************************
It was a long day in Yellowstone and we started to head out the south entrance...
...and into Grand Teton National Park...
.
.
...which also forced us to pull over...
...because the mountains were absolutely beautiful.
Once we arrived in Jackson...
...we checked into the hotel and then headed south...
...beyond the square...
...and just down a bit...
...to Snake River Grille.
The appetizers were the best...
...with a crispy potato pancake topped with salmon...
...and a steak tartar pizza that we could have eaten 5 more of.
My rather had lamb lollipops (little chewy)...
...I had a tasty venison hot pot...
...and my brother got halibut...
...and, of course, we all got dessert.
But seriously...
...nothing beat that pizza.
