Italy 2014 - Part 5 - Critters

So I visited three places of interest during my trip that brought me face (in)to face with critters.

The first was Esapolis in Padova with both dead bug exhibits...

 ...and live bug exhibits...

 ...as well as awesome summaries.

There was also a great number of reptiles...

...tarantulas...

...and silk worms...

...as well as this huge African frog that I truly thought was fake at first.

It was huge!

The second was the fish market in Venice...

...which was almost like going to a fantastic grocery store...

...while still knowing that these fish were far fresher...

  ...more exotic...

  ...and absolutely delicious (Squilla Mantis).

The third location was MUSE in Trento (science museum)...

...where all animals were positioned at their respective "living" elevation...

...and there were all sorts of animals...

...placed in exhibits or along hallways...

...so that visitors could look at them up close...

...while some of them looked back.

And, if you weren't freaked out enough by dinosaur bones...

...or seals struck with meloncholy...

...they had some people on display as well...

 ...and they looked so lifelike...

...that it freaked me out a little.

 Especially this kid.
